I got four dolls from Fifth Harmony but I will get the other. Normani 20, 15 years ago would be able to sell albums off of "Motivation" and "Wild Side" - even without Pop/CHR support, format success at R&B/Urban radio and going Top 10 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop genre charts was enough for an act to have a long shelf life, sell, tour, the works. Great outfit and the most important thing is that my daughter loved it. Hence all of them struggling to go solo despite the platform of a big name group. Hence Fifth Harmony never being a behemoth act even with massive hits. But I think there's a parallel with Fifth Harmony (which, different to her solo career, got to shine and have some massive moments) and even Pussycat Dolls: things are cyclical in Pop and when, for example, girl groups aren't "in", how far you can go (and how much you can sell) has a hard cap on it. Saying this at my own peril as I step right into the hive of Normani apologists: This isn't to say the songs were bad - her vocals are nice and warm, production was good, videos were good.

I played with melody, and harmony, and effected change upon nature. 0:00 / 2:53 Fifth Harmony - Anything is Possible (Barbie Theme Song) Barbie Barbie 11.2M subscribers Subscribe 39K 4.8M views 8 years ago FifthHarmony Barbie Dreamhouse Music sensation.

I may be pessimistic but my general take is that the songs just weren't that good, Normani just wasn't that interesting, and the general public just wasn't intrigued enough to bite. The fifth is an understanding of the human spirit as sustenance for mind and body. I had no idea it had been that long but needless to say five years is a long, long time in the world of Pop.
